Facial Allergic Contact Dermatitis

Focused Woman Applying Cream On Face In Bathroom

Many women have encountered facial skin allergic reactions. One major cause is allergic contact dermatitis.

Here are some common symptoms of facial allergic contact dermatitis:

• redness, scaly skin, rash, discolored patches after spaying fragrance or being in direct contact with facial mask, shampoo, conditioner, body wash or makeups
• redness, itching occurs after being in contact with custom pieces of jewelry (nickel allergy)

Be vigilant about skin allergens and what skincare products, including cosmetics and daily washes, may contain such allergens will help you to minimize the chance of contact dermatitis. Once the skin allergen source is eliminated, no further treatment may even be necessary. However, if there is rash, scaly skin, or discolored patch developed due to repeated exposure to the allergens (daily use of allergen-containing cosmetics, as an example), then treatment is essential.  When left untreated for a prolonged period of time, the irritation may gradually become chronic dermatitis and will likely leave scars on the skin. It also becomes harder to cure.

If you find that right after putting on your makeup, your skin, eye area, and/or lips feel itchy or irritating, stop using the cosmetics and try to switch to other brands. If you have sensitive skin and react easily to cosmetics or skincare products, then look for fragrance-free products and products specially designed for sensitive skin.

Even if you are not reacting to the cosmetics you use, it is necessary to wash off the makeup before bedtime with warm water.

Our healing lotion is concentrated with vitamin E and is a great solution to reduce redness and other skin allergic reactions.
